The Istanbul 1st Heavy Penal Court accepted the 579-page “Aziz İhsan Aktaş” indictment against 200 suspects, including seven suspended CHP mayors. The indictment listed the municipalities of Beşiktaş, Avcılar, and Esenyurt, as well as İETT and İSFALT, as “victims of crime.”
The suspects face charges of “forming an organization,” “bribery,” “bid rigging,” “fraud,” “document forgery,” and “laundering assets.” The indictment sought prison terms ranging from 187 to 450 years for Aktaş, along with the seizure of his assets.
Various charges were also brought against the suspended mayors Rıza Akpolat, Utku Caner Çaykara, Ahmet Özer, Oya Tekin, Kadir Aydar, Zeydan Karalar, and Abdurrahman Tutdere, with prison sentences ranging from 3 to 337 years. The trial date will be announced later by the court.
