An investigation has been launched in the Nazilli district of Aydın over posters allegedly targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu. As part of the investigation, CHP Nazilli District Youth Branch Chairman Mustafa Kemal Koç and three party members were detained on charges of “insulting the president” and “insulting a public official.” CHP officials argued that the posters did not contain any insults and announced that they would pursue the matter through legal channels.
