The Izmir Governor’s Office blocked the rally that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel planned to hold at Cumhuriyet Square on May 25. Citing the square’s limited capacity, the Governor’s Office requested that the rally be held at Gündoğdu Square instead. The CHP leadership, however, announced that they would not change the rally’s location.
