The appeal against the statute of limitations ruling in the case concerning the murder of journalist Hrant Dink was rejected by the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeals. The court stated that the Dink family did not have the right to participate in the case on the grounds of “lack of standing.” The ruling argued that the family did not suffer direct harm from the crimes attributed to the defendants. Thus, the appeal against the statute of limitations ruling against Ogün Samast and other defendants was deemed invalid. The ruling will be appealed to a higher court.
