The Constitutional Court terminated the legal existence of the Patriotic Party and the Ayyıldız Party on December 24. The decision, published in the Official Gazette, cited the Patriotic Party’s failure to hold its first major congress on time and to establish its mandatory organs, and the Ayyıldız Party’s failure to hold its major congress twice within the required time frame. With the decision, all assets of both parties were transferred to the Treasury.
