DİSK Basın-İş has announced that journalist Eylem Yılmaz, who has been under arrest since June 16, is being held in Artvin Closed Prison under conditions contrary to human dignity. Yılmaz is forced to sleep on the floor, on a blanket and without a pillow due to overcapacity. It was emphasized that this situation could have serious consequences both physically and psychologically. The union demanded the release of Eylem Yılmaz and all her colleagues arrested for their journalistic activities and the immediate remedy of the situation faced by members of the press.
