On February 27, 2026, at Selimpaşa Elementary School in Silivri, Istanbul, 16 students were made to wait in the schoolyard without their coats for three recess periods by teacher Hülya Çora. After the students chanted the slogan “rights, law, justice,” the teacher continued the punishment and was alleged to have insulted some of the students. Parents filed a complaint with CİMER. It was alleged that school administration reacted negatively toward the parents. The Ministry of National Education launched an investigation into the incident.
