Seven students were suspended from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) after boycotting the high prices at the university cafeteria by distributing free tea and coffee at the campus. The rectorate accused the students of “taking part in activities that prevent learning and the freedom of learning, or activities to disrupt the mechanism and peace of higher education institutes” as well as “organising meetings without permission”!
