Students at Şırnak University protested water outages, lack of hot water, and heating problems at the Cezeri Girls’ Dormitory on January 3. Students who made a statement in front of the dormitory said that accommodation and hygiene had become impossible in the cold weather conditions. The dormitory administration launched a disciplinary investigation into the students who voiced their demands. The university administration sent summonses to the students, accusing them of “making false statements and participating in protests.” The students reported that the hot water and heating problems continued while the investigation was ongoing.
