Pelin Gümüşdağ, 23, one of 110 people on trial for participating in the March 19 protests that began with the arrest of IBB Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, said her master’s degree program at Boğaziçi University was canceled by trustee rector Naci İnci. Gümüşdağ, who graduated with a first in history, said that although her name was on the acceptance list on July 1, her ID number was removed from the new list published on July 12. “My department accepted it, but the trustee canceled it arbitrarily,” Gümüşdağ said. Gümüşdağ stated that the same situation applies to at least four other students and said that this is a violation of their right to education and a usurpation of their scholarships.
