Statements were taken from residents opposing the ZENKAR-1 Solar Power Plant project, which is planned to be built on a pasture in the Arzoxli neighborhood of Diyarbakır’s Sûr district. During a scuffle that broke out between residents and the company on March 3, four people were injured and 15 were detained following the gendarmerie’s intervention; they were later released. As part of an investigation launched following the company’s complaint, nine residents gave statements to the gendarmerie; the residents stated that they had not insulted the company and that they were the ones filing a complaint against the company.
