In the second hearing of the lawsuit filed against DEM Party Co-Deputy Chairperson Sevtap Akdağ, the court ruled for her release. In the hearing held at Istanbul 25th High Criminal Court, Akdağ rejected the accusations of “membership in an illegal organization” through the testimony of a secret witness and demanded her acquittal, stating that she was being tried for her trade union and political activities.
His lawyers argued that the witness statements were baseless and that their client was being tried for his dissident identity. The court ruled for Akdağ’s release. The next hearing will be held on September 30, 2025.
