A Women’s Studies Society at a university received a warning from the dean’s office for organizing a march on campus following the murder of Rojin Kabaiş. In an email, the dean’s office stated that the march was an unauthorized event and warned that a repeat offense would result in expulsion. The group said that the ÖEM called them in for a meeting, used derogatory language, tried to prevent the action, and that the penalty was an attempt to silence women’s struggle for justice. The women emphasized that their actions were legitimate and announced that the struggle on campus would continue.
