Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan’s appeal against the arrest warrant issued for the second time was rejected. His lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz said that the decision was taken “automatically” and that the statements in the prosecutor’s request were used as grounds for arrest with spelling mistakes. Şahan’s case will be taken to the Constitutional Court. Şahan has been under arrest for six months as part of the “Urban Consensus” and “IBB investigation”.
