The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office requested permission to investigate Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş on December 26, alleging that municipal resources were used during the 2023 election campaign rallies in Karabük and Çankırı. The prosecutor’s office is investigating allegations that municipal personnel and resources were involved in rallies held in Karabük on May 9 and in Çankırı on May 11. The number of investigation permits requested against Yavaş rose to four, with the urban planning file in October, concert expenses in November, and the Ankapark file in January. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the investigations against Yavaş, claiming they were initiated for political reasons.
