Remzi Albayrak, Head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, who was detained as part of a financial investigation into the Bayrampaşa Municipality, was released on December 29 with judicial control in the form of a ban on leaving the country. In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Albayrak was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace after giving his statement to the prosecutor’s office. The court issued a judicial control decision. Albayrak stated that the allegations were unrelated to his duties and that he denied the claims.
