TİP Chairman Erkan Baş announced that his April 20 request to visit Selahattin Demirtaş at the Ministry of Justice had been rejected without justification. Baş stated that his request to meet with Demirtaş at Edirne Prison had been responded to with the message “not deemed appropriate.” Demirtaş has been held in prison for nearly 10 years, despite rulings by the European Court of Human Rights.
