As part of an investigation into the tenure of former Mayor Şükrü Sözen in the Manavgat district of Antalya, a raid was conducted at the municipality. In the investigation, which is being conducted on charges of “forming a criminal organization,” “embezzlement,” “extortion,” “bribery,” “tampering with a tender,” and “laundering assets derived from crime,” 36 people—including municipal officials, employees, contractors, and hotel owners—were taken into custody. Earlier, as part of the same investigation, six individuals—including Şükrü Sözen and his brother Fatih Sözen—had been arrested.
