Şimal Deniz, Treasurer of Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association Sarıyer Branch and Zeynep Yıldırım Cemevi, was sentenced to 9 years in prison and arrested in the final hearing of the case filed on the basis of a confessed witness statement. Her lawyer, Naim Feyzullah Eminoğlu, stated that the presiding judge said “I do not give an arrest, let the appeals court look at it”, but that an arrest warrant was later written in the minutes. Şimal Deniz was taken to Çağlayan Courthouse after being detained in Küçükarmutlu and arrested.
