Protests were held simultaneously in 13 cities against the 11th Judicial Package, which reportedly contains anti-LGBTQ+ regulations. Women and LGBT+ individuals took to the streets in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Adana, Mersin, Kocaeli, Aydin, Elazig, Malatya, Fethiye, and Kusadasi. Police intervened in the Ankara protest, and one person was detained. In Istanbul, the Kadikoy District Governor’s Office banned the protest, and two people were detained. Press statements were read at the protests in Izmir, Bursa, Adana, and Mersin, emphasizing that the regulations targeted women, LGBT+ individuals, and dissenting voices. The protests ended with calls to “withdraw the judicial package.”
