The Fatih District Governor’s Office banned a press conference planned to be held near the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Istanbul on January 11. The Governor’s Office stated that there was heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic in front of and around the consulate, that the area was not among the meeting areas designated by the Governor’s Office, and that there was a risk of possible provocation. The ban was imposed on the grounds of protecting public order and security.
