Events to be organised by Alevi organisations for the 42nd anniversary of the Maraş massacre were banned by Kahramanmaraş Governorate due to the pandemic. The Governorate banned all meetings, leaflet distributions and demonstrations for 14 days from December 15 within measures against the COVID-19; therefore the commemoration of those killed in the massacre was banned this year as well, just like in the previous years.
