The protest organized by local artists and democratic mass organisations against the event ban was prevented by the police following the order of Izmir Governorate. The police based the prevention on the ongoing Governorate ban against events.
A concert organized by local artists in Izmir on February 24 against the bans and antidemocratic applications against hunger-striker Grup Yorum members has also recently been banned by the Izmir Governorate.
