Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office objected against the release decree issued by Ankara 19th Assize Court for former People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş. The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that Demirtaş is on trial within the “offenses against the Constitutional order” and that heavy criminal suspect is sufficient for his arrest. The Prosecutor’s Office further claimed that arrest is a proportionate measure in relation to the sentences debated for the offense of “illegal organisation membership.”
