A lawsuit was filed against the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Assembly member Nihat Akkaya due to “making illegal organisation propaganda” through his expression, “Mr Abdullah Öcalan” in a speech he gave in 2019. The indictment, accepted by Antalya 9th Assize Court, declared Newroz celebrations illegal and claimed that Akkaya attended the event after the call of the PKK. The first hearing of the case will be held on May 5.
