Mardin Bar Association attorney Ali Kahraman, who is one of the eleven people detained together with People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Co-Chair Perihan Ağaoğlu during the house raids organized in Artuklu district of Mardin on February 29, was arrested due to “illegal organisation membership.” Kahraman is charged due to the Newroz celebrations he participated in Diyarbakır in the years 2013, 2014 and 2015; his activities for HDP and the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), as well as his meeting with former HDP Mardin MP Gülser Yıldırım. Kahraman was sent to Mardin Type-E Closed Prison.
