The İzmir Governorship banned all outdoor events planned in connection with the 14th İzmir Pride March on June 27–28, including rallies, marches, press statements, festivals and similar gatherings, for a period of two days. The governorship cited public order, general security and the risk of provocation as grounds for the decision.
