Metin Kiraz, the police officer who hit 7-year-old Miraç Miroğlu with an armored vehicle in İdil district of Şırnak in 2021, causing his death, was not granted an investigation permit. İdil District Governor Anıl Adıgüzel stated that the police “had no choice but to hit him”. In the decision, based on the Forensic Medicine report, it was claimed that Miraç was “primarily at fault”. DEM Party MP Meral Danış Beştaş reacted to the decision, stating that this gives armored vehicles “the authority to kill”. Lawyers stated that they will take legal action against the administrative decision.
