DEM Party Van Deputy Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit brought the police intervention against two young people in Seyrantepe Neighborhood of Van on February 25 to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Sayyiğit submitted a written question requesting a response from Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi. The motion alleged that after the young people in the vehicle the police wanted to search asked, “Do you have a search warrant?”, they were beaten and handcuffed. Sayyiğit asked whether a judicial and administrative investigation had been launched into the incident and how many similar cases there had been in the last five years.
