Bar Associations have reacted against the ruling power’s attempt to change the structure and election systems of Bar Associations. The march they have started on Friday for the reaction has reached Ankara. The police built barricades at the entrance of the city and didn’t allow the lawyers to march. Bar Association chairmen, on the other hand, protest the police prevention with a sit-in protest after being beaten. Ankara Bar Association Chairman Erinç Sağkan made a statement in front of the police barricade and said, “We are even prevented from walking in the city. This is probably the clearest example that we can no longer talk about a state of law. We are experiencing a very historically dark day.”
