The Democratic Institutions Platform protested the attacks on the Sheikh Maksud and Eşrefiye neighborhoods of Aleppo on January 9 at Şişhane Square in Istanbul. The protest emphasized that the attacks targeted civilians and must be stopped. After the press statement, police intervened against groups attempting to leave the area. During the intervention, at least 30 people were beaten and detained.
