A protest launched in Ankara by miners who were members of Bağımsız Maden-İş over unpaid wages and other labor receivables continued for a third day. Following a protest ban imposed by the Ankara Governor’s Office, police surrounded the miners and prevented journalists from contacting the workers. Bağımsız Maden-İş President Gökay Çakır said they were detained when they went to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and were held until late at night. The union said it would continue the protest until the receivables of Doruk Madencilik and Eti Gümüş workers were paid.
