Ankara 4th Labor Court ordered the closure of the Union of Retired Assemblies upon the application of the Ankara Governorate. The governor’s office had filed a lawsuit in 2024, stating that the union was not registered. Ali Ersin Gür, Co-Spokesperson of the union, said that the decision was unlawful and that they would appeal the decision and, if necessary, apply to the Constitutional Court and the ECHR. Officials from the All Pensioners’ Union and Tüm Emekli Sen also criticized the judicial decisions and stressed that confidence in the legal system has been shaken.
