Balkar Selçuk Bağlar, a lecturer at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, was arrested on charges of “inciting people to hatred and hostility” based on his social media posts. In his statement, Bağlar stated that he was targeted for supporting the peace process and argued that his posts were related to his intellectual identity. His lawyer requested his release, stating that there were no criminal elements, but the court ruled for his arrest.
