Reporter Feyza Nur Çalıkoğlu appeared before the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information” in relation to her report on the Çatalca Return Center. Çalıkoğlu and her lawyer Serpil Özcan were present at the second hearing on February 10. In his opinion on the merits of the case, the prosecutor requested that Çalıkoğlu be punished. In her defense, Çalıkoğlu said she wrote the report to inform the public. The court granted additional time for the defense and postponed the hearing until February 26 at 12:00 p.m.
