Imprisonment sentences were issued against lawyers Turan Hançerli, Gökmen Yeşil and Zülfikar Erden due to “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations” and “resisting the police” after providing legal support in possible rights violations during the protests organized in Avcılar on the day Berkin Elvan lost his life. Küçükçekmece 4th Assize Court deferred the announcement of the sentence of imprisonment against the lawyers for 1 year and eight months each and issued for the lawyers to be monitored for two years. The file was moved to the high court for appeal.
