16th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation approved the imprisonment sentence issued against arrested politician Aysel Tuğluk due to “administering a terrorist organisation.” Tuğluk was arrested on December 29, 2016 as she was the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Deputy-Chair and is still under arrest at Kandıra Type-F Prison. Ankara 17th Assize Court sentenced Tuğluk to 10 years of imprisonment based on the statements she gave to the media and funerals she attended as evidence.
