Eight of the 17 people detained within the scope of the investigation against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality were arrested. Among them, Boğaziçi A.Ş. General Manager Consultant Deniz Erzincan and Purchasing Specialist Ali Cüneyt Özdemir were arrested on charges of “bribery” and “bid rigging”. The other 9 people were released on judicial control conditions.
The investigation was initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on various charges such as “leading a criminal organization”, “bribery” and “qualified fraud”. IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu had previously been suspended from office as part of the same investigation.
