2025 An investigation has been launched against Cumhuriyet newspaper’s News Director Can Uğur, who reported on allegations of question leakage and fraud regarding the LGS exam. “I do not have the slightest regret for defending the rights of nearly 1 million children,” Uğur said on his social media account.
There were allegations that the verbal test questions in the first session of the LGS exam and the numerical test questions in the second session were shared in WhatsApp groups during the exam. While the Ministry of National Education confirmed this leak, it argued that there was no security vulnerability.
In the exam results, it was announced that 719 students scored full points, a number that drew attention compared to previous years. Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, on the other hand, used harsh expressions targeting those who brought the allegations of fraud to the agenda.
CHP has filed a criminal complaint against the allegations of fraud in the exam and announced that it will continue its efforts to inform the public.
