In the case of 22 defendants tried in connection with the “money counting footage” file regarding the purchase of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters building, the court decided to write to the Presidency of the Constitutional Court to inquire about the outcome of the CHP’s 2019 financial audit. The hearing was postponed until April 15, 2026, to address outstanding issues. The indictment states that the money in the footage relates to the CHP’s purchase of 14 properties in Sarıyer Ayazağa on December 11, 2019, for 24 million 369 thousand TL. Whether the donations were made in accordance with the Political Parties Law and whether receipts were issued are also among the allegations in the case. Twenty-two people, including former CHP executives and mayors, face prison sentences ranging from six months to one year.
