Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç commented on the detained Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, whose health condition has worsened.
Speaking on NTV, Tunç stated that the Forensic Medicine report is a technical issue and said, “The judiciary can make a decision without the report.”
Tunç stated that the examination process continues at Izmir Training and Research Hospital, that Forensic Medicine has requested additional tests and that the report will be forwarded to the judiciary after the final evaluation.
It was reported that Murat Çalık was recently started on formula supplementation due to severe weight loss.
The Minister emphasized that the discretion regarding detention belongs entirely to the judiciary.
