Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin insulted a teacher who reacted against the interview system at an event he attended, and then accused him of being “associated with terrorist organizations”. Teachers reacted to these accusations and called for justice and dialog.
Tekin interrupted teacher Özkan Özdemir and called him “rude and immoral” and then said “intelligence reports show what kind of structures he is related to”.
In a statement, the Interview Victim Teachers Platform expressed its reaction by saying, “Instead of criminalizing us, listen to the people and the right.” Stating that the minister’s claims are baseless, the platform emphasized that they will continue their struggle.
Teachers announced that their demands for a fair evaluation and transparency have been ignored and that they will continue their search for their rights.
