Oğuzcan Gürbüzer, who had epilepsy and 93 percent intellectual disability, was put in solitary confinement cell as a result of a disciplinary punishment and died there after having an epileptic seizure. It is learned that the prison doctor gave the report “he can stay in solitary confinement”, but he had a previous report “he cannot stay in prison”. Forensic Medicine Institution stated that the decision of solitary confinement was wrong and there was a causal link to death. The family doctor was charged with “abuse of duty” and the court acquitted him on the grounds of “lack of a direct link to death”. Family and lawyer announce they will appeal the verdict
