Demirhan Gözaçan, an advisor to the mayor of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, has been taken into custody. Gözaçan’s name came up in the “sincere repentance” statement made by Özkan Yalım, the detained mayor of Uşak, as part of an investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The municipality stated that the detention is unrelated to the institution’s activities.
