The prosecutor’s office prepared an indictment against Mabel Matiz’s song “Perperişan” due to “obscenity”. The indictment demands a prison sentence of six months to three years for the artist. Matiz gave a statement on September 22 in the investigation opened following a criminal complaint by the Ministry of Interior and was released with a ban on leaving the country. “The purpose of my music is not to trigger people, but to unite them,” the artist said in her statement. The Ministry of Family and Social Services requested an access ban on the grounds that the song violated public order. The song is still available on Spotify, according to the Freedom of Expression Association.
