The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against poet and writer Yılmaz Odabaşı due to a Twitter post in 2018 was held at the Yalova 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. In the post, Odabaşı wrote, “Turkey is going to the elections so that Erdoğan can say, ‘I am not a dictator, I was elected by the will of the people’. I don’t think there is any other reason.” The prosecution of Odabaşı, who was accused of “insulting the President” due to the post, will continue on November 13.
