After Boğaziçi University’s trustee rector, Naci Inci, took a precautionary decision against the students protesting him by taking advantage of the protection measures in the Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women, 8 students protested him with the banner, ‘The murdered women are our riot, did you think Law No. 6284 was yours?’ A lawsuit was filed against the 8 protester students and the first hearing was held at the Istanbul 60th Criminal Court of First Instance on the charge of “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911”. The trial will continue on May 25.
