A lawsuit was filed against People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Honorary Chairman and former Izmir MP Ertuğrul Kürkçü due to various protest demonstrations he participated in. The indictment prepared by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office was accepted by Diyarbakır 10th Assize Court; claiming an imprisonment sentence against Kürkçü for up to 20 years due to “armed terrorist organization membership,” “praising the offense and the offender” as well as “participating in illegal meetings and demonstrations.”
