A lawsuit was filed against 18 members of the “Give Me My Right” campaign group, who marched from Istiklal Street to Taksim on December 25, 2024 in protest against the minimum wage set at 22,104 TL, on charges of violating Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations. The group marching with the slogans “Let Vedat live on minimum wage” and “Resistance will be the answer of the working people” faced police intervention; the activists were detained in handcuffs and kept facing the wall for an hour. The trial will be held on September 16th.
