Dicle University Journalism Department students wanted to attend the graduation ceremony with a Kurdish banner reading “Şagirtên Apê Musa Hatin” (Apê Musa’s students have arrived), but faced security obstacles. The police reminded the students that Kurdish banners had been allowed in previous faculty ceremonies, to which the police replied, “As of today, it is forbidden.” The banner was not allowed into the ceremony area by security and plainclothes police. The students stated that the ban was political and that the banner was banned because it referred to Apê Musa.
